How does Tasty Unzip work?

Tasty Unzip changes the way your Mac unzips .zip archives. Ordinarily, when you unzip a file the contents of the archive appear in the first available spot on your desktop (or folder). This can be confusing, especially if you have a messy desktop! With Tasty Unzip installed after clicking on a .zip archive the contents appear "in place" of the archive. No more hunting for files after you unzip them! There is also an optional feature that removes the zip file after you unzip it, or backs it up to another folder.

Explain how Tasty Unzip is a beta?

This is the beta release of Tasty Unzip - there might be bugs. We plan to support more formats and add additional features - if you have ideas for features you would like to see please let us know - email us at Customer Service.

 

How do i know if Tasty Unzip will make my life easier?

Download the TRIAL first, we have extended the trial period from 5 to 15 days, this should be long enough for you to determine if you feel its worth while, if you love it - then buy the full version!

 

I just purchased Tasty Unzip. How long do I have to wait until I receive my registered version?

Usually, just a matter of minutes. An email will be sent that contains your license information.

 

Okay, it's been a few minutes. I still haven't receive my email. What gives?

Sometimes, an overzealous spam filter will catch the email. Check your "Bulk" folder. If there's no joy to be found there, then drop us a line at Customer Service. We'll straighten things out for you in no time.

What's so special about Tasty Unzip?

Imagine opening a candy bar and having it disappear and reappear somewhere in your room - leaving you with the candy wrapper. That is sort of the way zip files work on a Mac, you rarely need the zip file after you have unzipped it - and - you want the candy bar to stay right where you unwrapped it. Tasty Unzip addresses both of these "issues".

When I buy Tasty Unzip, what upgrades am I entitled to?

You are entitled to all version of the 'app that are released within the same series - 1.1, 1.2, etc. are all the 1.x series.

 

Will Tasty Unzip work with Stuffit, 7zip, Gzip or any other 3rd party unarchivers ?

No - not right now. In fact, when you install Tasty Unzip it will re-associate .zip files with OS X's default unzip utility. This shouldn't break anything but if you experience any problems - please let us know.

 

How do I remove Tasty Unzip from my computer?

To remove Tasty Unzip, open System Preferences, right click (or ctrl-click) the Tasty Unzip icon and select "Remove Tasty Unzip Preference Pane". Then browse to the folder /User/yourusername/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins and remove the folder Tasty Unzip.bundle.
